Dejah Thoris, Princess of Helium, Regent of the Royal Helium Academy of Science, leading scientific expert on the Ninth Ray, skilled swordswoman and historian of the planet Barsoom, also known as Mars. Dejah Thoris, scion of Helium, who bends to no man.

Dejah will be entering Milliways from the year 2013, more than a hundred years after her canon took place. In her universe, the stories that were published on Earth as the Barsoom series (A Princess of Mars, John Carter of Mars, et al) by Edgar Rice Burroughs, were all compiled and published by her late husband's nephew, and as such, were adapted to the time and culture into which they were introduced. If she ever read them, or anyone ever mistook her for that character, she would set them straight. Forcefully, if necessary.

Dejah is a scientist, a diplomat, an explorer, a historian, a swordswoman, and a teacher. She helped rebuild the great city and society of Helium, after the war with Zodanga and the ousting of the extremely technologically advanced race called the Thern. She brought together warring factions across species lines, and largely instituted a period of peace and restoration on Barsoom. She is loved and respected by the people of Helium, and she cherishes them just as much.

Her defining characteristic is Curiosity. She's a driven and dedicated scientist with a brilliant mind and a quick wit. She has an intuitive understanding of advanced technologies borne of thousands of hours of experimentation. That said, she can probably pick up any sufficiently advanced electronic device and get it to roll over and play nice given a bit of time.

As Regent of the Royal Helium Academy of Sciences, she lectures, defines future university level curriculum, and guides the developing lines of research. She loves working with students, where she can instill a sense of wonder and curiosity young minds. Her job is demanding, and the administrative side of it drives her out of her mind sometimes, but she loves having a hand in defining what the future will look like for her people.

She's also a very physical person who enjoys a good fight, with the sword or the gun (energy weapon). She trains regularly, sword kata, hand to hand. She hates running, but she'll do it if she's not sparring regularly.

She's playful, she enjoys laughing with friends. She relaxes with music, and the performing arts. Or simply people watching, which is why I suspect she'll enjoy the Bar.
