Powers/Abilities/Skills: Dejah is a brilliant scientist and a beloved leader among her people. She holds degrees in engineering, civil engineering, quantum physics, linguistics, and history. She's the Regent of the Royal Helium Academy of Science, and currently, she's the Jeddak in Helium, which is a position acquired by both diplomacy and a strong sword arm. She is an accomplished warrior on the battlefield and trains regularly to keep her skills sharp.
Heroic/Villainous/Neutral: She's definitely on the heroic end of the spectrum. She cares deeply for her people and for the entire planet of Barsoom. Her life's work is to return Barsoom to the Age of Oceans. She will fight the forces of darkness and oppression wherever she finds them. She holds fierce beliefs about how a leader should treat their people. She believes her position is not one of power only, but one of great responsibility. She will not stand by and allow destructive forces to run amuck, not while it's within her power to stop them.
She's both survived and deposed a shadow occupation by a galactic parasitic race known as the Thern. She's been watching her version of Earth for their inevitable return, knowing that they are doing to Earth what they did to her beloved Barsoom. She uses her knowledge of Ninth Ray technology to screen for and thwart the Thern at any opportunity. She finds it very hard to believe that something as diverse and strange as the Seven Fold City could be free of their influence, and she takes her Calling to the Cities very seriously.
Mentor/Journeyman/Rookie: Dejah is firmly in the Mentor category. She knows who she is and what she's capable of in battle, both intellectual and physical. Having a long life span, she tends to plan for far into the future, and coming to the Seven Fold City will eventually be about recruiting allies to fight against the Thern on Earth, or possibly Barsoom, if their return is accelerated. She can also offer her services both as a scientist and as a warrior to other like-minded individuals. She believes the Cities are what a ruler makes of them, and she wants them to be the best for all comers. (Well, most of them. Matai Chang can go hang.)
Which Area(s) Of The City Interest You For Your Character? Dejah's literary pedigree, her fictional heritage if you will, is from the pulp novels and serials of the early 20th century. All else aside, she's one of Edgar Rice Burroughs's characters. I think Dejah will split her time between the City of Tomorrow, at the Science Academy, researching and teaching a new generation of heroes, and exploring the City of Adventure, for its lush green jungles, its ancient ruins, its never ending parade of predators bent on devouring the hapless traveler.
